As per the CBSE guidelines the CCE (continuous and comprehensive evaluation) will be followed from class 1st to 10th. Continuous and comprehensive evaluation refers to a system of school based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of development. The scheme is thus curricular initiative attempting to shift emphasis from testing to holistic learning. It aims at creating good citizens possessing sound health appropriate skills and desirable qualities apart from academic excellence. It is hoped that will equip the learners to meet the challenges of life with confidence and success. The students shall be tested for both scholastic and co- curricular excellence.
The academic session is divided into two terms.
First term : April to September
Second term : October to March
The students shall be tested on the basis of the following :
Formative assessment : 40% weight-age
Summative assessment :60% weight-age
FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT :- Formative Assessment is carried out by the teacher to monitor the student’s progress continuously in a non-threatening, friendly and supportive environment. This scholastic assessment is carried out during a course of instruction for providing continuous feedback to teachers and the learners obtained from the school admission office. This form must be completed along with all the documents mentioned on the form to enable the school to process the application.
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT :- Summative assessment based on written test from particular syllabus from particular subject.
